Frozen Elsa hat

So B is obsessed with frozen. I made her an Elsa hat today from

Repeat crafter me’s pattern. 

This is the first time I have used beading in my crochet. It makes the tiara super special (if you are 3) 





Grandy’s Christmas blanket

really wanted to make my Dad a blanket for his arm chair like the one I made mum last Christmas. Chose these solid squares for their ease from the jan eaton book. With the birth of my Christmas baby fast approaching I knew I would have to compromise degree of difficulty in order to get into a fast rhythm to churn this out (with love) 



Jan eaton sampler blanket

So I chose the brightest yarn I could find, magenta, red, orange and burgandy. Completely Bright and almost clashy.
The idea was to complete a different square from the jan eaton book for each of the 36 squares. And I love the result.

It was cool that sine squares that didn’t take my fancy as much in the book looked totally different and eye catching on my blanket, but the opposite can also be said (I am looking at you, willow square)
I used the pom pom border I found online and though it took awhile it was so worth it.

It was slow going having to read the pattern for each square, there was no getting into a groove really but it kept my brain engaged throughout. I chose only round and round (not rows) squares as I have learnt the hard way these are so much easier to join.

Brenna scallop hat

36 square blanket

Finally finished it! I follow the theory (well I assume it’s a theory) that less designs per blanket is best (though this is going against my next blanket project where EVERY square is going to be a different jan eaton square)
I have up admit I got a bit bored with the three rectangle design and therefore went with the square target solid blocks to hurry things along.
The size 6×6 is good for over your knees on the couch, but not so good for full length lying down snoozing. I was stoked to get the 100% extra twist wool for $2 a ball on clearance. Usually $6.99 a ball! It’s super heavy feeling.

Flower ear flap hat

This was based on repeat crafter me’s basic pattern.
I love the blue/purple combination.

Pom Pom beanie

All about Amis pattern
Made as a rectangle then sewn together. Pom poms are hard to get even.
With lachies I ch30 to start but tbh it wasn’t long enough. Needed about an extra 5cm.

Sc flower hat

Here is the single crochet flower hat pattern I have tweaked.
Initially made for Miss Evie, but so sweet I have made a couple more.

Here’s the trick…

Follow shell beanie patten for increases, then…
Rows 1-11 sc around
Row 12 – 3 dc miss 2 st around
Row 13-16 sc around

Attach 2 petal rounds of flower pattern found on ravelry.

Next time will try proper appliqué to attach flower rather than wool and tapestry needle. Will try report back if that makes flower sit better.

Two Arms the Unicorn

Ah, Two Arms . I have such a soft spot for him. His blue brother, Edge, was also pretty cute, but using the Fluro cotton yarn just made Two Arms pop.
I think it’s his super floppy poseable body that just makes me want to hold him.
